To our valued user groups,
We are writing to follow up on our email from Sept. 18.
Yesterday, Council passed the Vaccine Passport Bylaw 65M2021 with measures to combat the 4th wave of COVID-19. This new bylaw works in tandem with the Provincial Health Order 43-2021 - Restrictions Exemption Program.
In alignment with these requirements, all users aged 12 and over must show personal identification and provide one of the following to enter City-operated recreation facilities or participate in indoor recreation programming:
- Proof of vaccination
- Negative test result (within 72 hours)
- Medical exemption letter
It is the responsibility of each user group to ensure that their members are aware of and follow all current guidelines. Please ensure that your participants review details about these requirements on our website before visiting one of our facilities.
Children 0-11 years of age are not required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.
The new bylaw does not apply to outdoor Recreation facilities or programs, including Athletic Parks.
Customer health and safety remains our number one priority. Participants need to maintain physical distancing, and face coverings must be worn while inside City of Calgary Recreation facilities except while doing physical activity.
If you are feeling unwell or show symptoms of COVID-19 we ask that you stay home.
As Public Health orders are amended and clarified, we commit to keeping you informed of any new restrictions or rules surrounding Calgary Recreation’s service and program delivery. We ask that customers be patient and kind to our customer service staff as we implement these new requirements.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to implement these new protocols to keep you and your family health, active and safe.
