  • Charity for Ball and Shirt Donations

    Posted March 21, 2018

Would you like to make a difference in Zambian Children learning how to play soccer?

We are looking for used soccer balls and jerseys to be donated to Zambian Children.

A team of dedicated Calgarian Volunteers will be going on a mission with Habitat for Humanity in Zambia to work on a housing build project this coming July.

Miscellaneous donations will be part of the Calgarian Volunteer's luggage; and used soccer balls and jerseys as donation will be much appreciated.

To find out how to donate used soccer balls and jerseys, please contact.

Donation as can de dropped at the office of Kevin Copping #310 - 323 10th Avenue Calgary.

Last year, used soccer balls were donated to:

The SOS School Village in Lusaka. SOS School Village looks after vulnerable orphan children, mostly from losing parents from HIV.
I had the opportunity to visit this school and witnessed how well children were taken care.

Blessed Hope Community School in Mapepe Compound, where we were building housing with Habitat for Humanity Zambia.
In total we built three houses, i.e.helping  three families for a total of 35 occupants, most of them vulnerable orphan children.

    The School Staff commented on the quality of the balls that were donated and how much it makes a huge impact in children life;
even for the very young ones who can develop sooner and better soccer skills with high quality balls.
I learned that Zambians are huge fans of their national soccer team, the Chipolopolo!

This year, the mission of Habitat for Humanity Global Village Build Project will be in Kabwe, capital of the Zambian Central Province, at the end of July 2018

    Women in Soccer Conference

On April 14 and 15th, the Alberta Soccer Development of Women in Soccer Committee (DWSC) will host its fourth annual Women in Soccer Conference. This year's conference will feature a one-day program, offered in both Calgary and Leduc - making it accessible for a greater number of women across Alberta.

The 2018 conference will offer unique leadership, coaching, and referee professional development sessions designed specifically to empower and inspire female leaders.

We are thrilled to welcome our keynote speaker, Andrea Neil, to the conference. Andrea is a former Canadian Women's National Team Player, Canada Sports Hall of Fame inductee, and USSF National ‘B’ Licensed and UEFA ‘A’ Licensed coach. Andrea, who will also lead an on-field coaching session, is both a highly skilled coach and passionate leader on the topic of sport and its role in character development among girls and women.
